Covered in dense oak, hornbeam, and beech trees, this forest offers a short, cooling stop along the Baku–Guba road. The changing climate from sea level to higher elevation has created a rich diversity of flora and fauna within the forest. This roadside area is a convenient place to stretch your legs and breathe fresh mountain air after a long car journey. The changing leaf colours in autumn create a particularly beautiful scene. Small streamside rest spots are also available nearby.
Home to Mountain Jews who have settled along the Gudyalchay river since 1722, this village is considered the only fully Jewish settlement in the world outside Israel and the USA and carries the nickname 'Little Jerusalem'. Jews fleeing persecution found refuge here under the protection of Guba Khan Huseynali Khan II. In 2010, the population stood at 3,598, mostly Jewish, though many have since emigrated to Israel, the USA, and Europe following the Soviet era. A new synagogue, Bet Knesset, operates in the village, maintained with financial support from residents' relatives abroad. Traditional architecture and Mountain Jewish culture continue to be preserved here today.
