Before you travel

Do you need a visa for Azerbaijan?

It depends on your nationality. Citizens of more than 90 countries can apply online through the official ASAN e-Visa system — no embassy visit, no paperwork by post.

What the e-Visa gives you

The ASAN e-Visa is issued electronically and arrives by email. These are its standard terms.

1Single entry
30Days you may stay
90Days valid from issue
~3Working days to process
An urgent option is available if you are travelling sooner. Fees and processing times are shown on the official portal.

How to apply

Check that your nationality is eligible

The list of eligible countries and the current fee are on the official portal. If your country is not on it, you will need to apply through an Azerbaijani embassy or consulate.

Apply once your dates are fairly firm

The visa is single entry and valid for a limited window from the date it is issued, so applying many months ahead is not useful.

Fill in the form and pay online

You will need your passport details and a card. Check every field against your passport — a mistyped name or number is the most common reason an application has to be redone.

Save it on your phone and print a copy

The e-Visa arrives as a PDF by email. Keep it where you can reach it without internet, and have a printed copy for the airline desk and passport control.

What we can and cannot do

  • We do not issue visas. No travel company does — the e-Visa is issued by the state, directly to you.
  • We can confirm your trip in writing. If your application, your airline or a border officer asks for proof of accommodation and a plan, tell us and we will send a written confirmation of your booked hotels and itinerary.
  • We can hold your plan while you apply. Nothing is paid before your itinerary is agreed, so you are not out of pocket if your dates move.
Rules change. Everything on this page reflects the standard terms of the ASAN e-Visa at the time of writing. Always confirm the current requirements and fee for your own nationality on the official portal before you book flights.

Plan the trip first, then apply

Build your itinerary and see the price straight away — then apply for the visa with your dates already settled.
